GOTS is the most reliable standard for certifying a mattress material as organic. GOTS certified material has passed appropriate and thorough inspections throughout the supply chain. External agencies, such as Oregon Tilth and the International Control Union, certify materials for GOTS. The mattresses with the Greenguard and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certifications meet strict indoor air quality and low emission standards.
The Standard 100 certification criteria include quality control measures that ensure that products maintain their quality between annual renewals, but they do not require companies to meet social and labor criteria, such as minimum wage regulations and the prohibition of child labor.
